Robins AFB employs almost 1400 scientists and engineers in a variety of positions.

Requirements for all civilian engineering positions at Robins AFB include:

1. US Citizenship

2. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

There are two separate avenues for employment of engineers  at Robins AFB:

(2) Positions for entry-level (newly-degreed) engineers are not announced - recruiting is done on college campuses, primarily in the spring and fall (see number 2 below).

(See below for information on Co-Op, intern, and scholarship programs.)

1. Engineering Positions Requiring Experience

Job opportunities requiring engineering experience are announced at www.USAJOBS.gov.

Click on "job search" to search for current announcements specific to Robins AFB other than entry-level developmental positions.

Click on "tips" for suggestions when applying to engineering announcements (for other than entry-level developmental positions).

You must apply to each specific announcement following the instructions in the announcement. Do not email a resume.

2. Entry-Level Engineering Positions

We have several exciting programs for entry-level development engineering positions. Specific opportunities vary, but in general we are looking for a variety of recent college graduates primarily in the fields of electrical and computer engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, and industrial engineering.

We only actively recruit engineering degrees (not engineering technology) from ABET-accredited colleges.

(Please note that engineering degrees are preferred. Engineering Technology degrees may be considered minimally qualified with certification from the FE or EIT exam or with at least 12 months of qualifying relevant engineering experience. Contact the employment office for more detail. Degrees from international institutions will be reviewed to determine qualification.)

The following programs are used for entry-level, newly-degreed engineering developmental positions. All other engineering positions are announced on USAJobs.

Defense Career Intern Program (DCIP)

The Defense Career Intern Program (DCIP) is our local program for hiring entry-level developmental engineers. We actively recruit on many college campuses in the spring and fall. Contact the college office of career services for more information. Or, email a resume to ENGINEER@robinsjobs.com.

Click "recruiting" for information about our recruiting efforts for these entry-level developmental engineering positions.

Competitive starting salaries are based on degree, GPA, and related experience (e.g., Co-Op, internship, post-graduation). All developmental positions include a minimum of two years in a training position in the developmental payband (YD-1) with performance-based salary increases. At the successful conclusion of the training period, engineers are promoted the the "journeyman/professional" payband (YD-2).

Note: Effective 21 Jan 2007, all engineers at the WR-ALC are covered by the National Security Personnel System (NSPS) instead of the General Schedule (GS) tables.

These positions offer full benefits, including liberal annual and sick leave.

Selection: The selection panel for entry-level positions meets approximately once each month. Those selected will receive an email (using the email address on the resume, so be sure it is accurate). They will be instructed to complete additional forms and submit them to complete the employment process.

PALACE Acquire (PAQ)

Recruiting for the S&E PALACE Acquire (PAQ) program is conducted each fall at selected campus career fairs. Click on "PAQ". Enter "2332" in the search field to locate the document.

Co-Op and Intern

There are limited opportunities for Co-Op and summer intern for engineering students. Click on Co-Op and Intern for more information.

Scholarship Program (SMART)

Click here for information about the SMART program, a scholarship program for current college students in Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
