1. Computer Scientist Positions Requiring Experience

Job opportunities requiring significant relevant experience are announced at www.USAJOBS.gov.

Click on "job search" to search for current announcements specific to Robins AFB other than entry-level developmental positions.

Click on "tips" for suggestions when applying to journeyman announcements (for other than entry-level developmental positions).

You must apply to each specific announcement following the instructions in the announcement. Do not email a resume.

2. Entry-Level Computer Scientist Positions

We have several exciting programs for entry-level development computer scientist positions.

(Please note that we actively recruit only for BS Computer Science degrees, not Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other related degrees.)

The following programs are used for entry-level, newly-degreed computer science developmental positions. All other computer science positions are announced on USAJobs.

Defense Career Intern Program (DCIP)

The Defense Career Intern Program (DCIP) is our local program for hiring entry-level developmental computer scientists. We actively recruit on many college campuses in the spring and fall. The fall 2008 schedule will be posted here. Or, email CompSci@robinsjobs.com for more information.

DO NOT email a resume. Resumes are only accepted at scheduled recruiting events. Emailed resumes may not be accepted.

Click "recruiting" for information about our recruiting efforts for these entry-level developmental computer scientist positions.

Competitive starting salaries are based on degree, GPA, and related experience (e.g., Co-Op, internship, post-graduation). All developmental positions include a minimum of two years in a training position in the developmental payband (YD-1) with performance-based salary increases. At the successful conclusion of the training period, computer scientists are promoted the the "journeyman/professional" payband (YD-2).

Note: Effective 21 Jan 2007, all computer scientists at the WR-ALC are covered by the National Security Personnel System (NSPS) instead of the General Schedule (GS) tables.

These positions offer full benefits, including liberal annual and sick leave.

Selection: The selection panel for entry-level positions meets approximately once each month. Those selected will receive an email (using the email address on the resume, so be sure it is accurate). They will be instructed to complete additional forms and submit them to complete the employment process.

PALACE Acquire (PAQ)

Co-Op and Intern

There are limited opportunities for Co-Op and summer intern for computer science students. Click on Co-Op and Intern for more information.

Scholarship Program (SMART)
