Vacancy Notification

 

Disabled Veterans interested in being notified of future vacancies may create an online job search agent on the USAJobs website (www.usajobs.com). Instructions for creating the search agent are listed below.

 

CREATING AN ACCOUNT WITH USAJOBS

 

To establish an account at the USAJOBS website, complete the following tasks:

1.  Go to www.usajobs.com

2.  Upon entering the overview page, click the icon entitled, “CREATE”; it will be identified within a blue rectangular circle

3.  Click the “CREATE ACCOUNT” bar in the middle of the page

4.  Complete all of the required information

5.  Click the “SUBMIT” button at the bottom of the page upon completion

6.  A confirmation indicator will appear on the next page 

From this point, you can exercise several options such as posting your resume, creating job search agents, check the status of submitted applications; uploading your portfolio; and editing your account profile.

CREATING SEARCH AGENTS

This area of the website allows you to be notified when preferred jobs are advertised.  You can enter up to 10 preferred positions into the system. In turn, you will be notified by e-mail whenever they become available. Below are the steps involved with engaging this process:

1. Click “MY JOB SEARCH” at the top of the overview page of the website; this is located along the top of the page, second gray-colored tab from the left

2. Enter your USERNAME and PASSWORD to enter the system (Note: Follow the steps at the top of this page to establish an account)

3. Click “MY SEARCH AGENTS”

4. Click “CREATE NEW AGENT”

5. Click the specific location(s) of interest within the “JOB LOCATIONS” box

6. Click the position(s) you prefer under the “JOB CATEGORY” box

7. Click the specific occupational series/title(s) within the “OCCUPATIONAL SERIES” box

8. Click the agency(s) within the “AGENCY” box (example: Air Force Material Command [AFMC])

9. Enter your preferred Salary Range (optional)

10. Enter your preferred Pay Grade Range (optional)

11. Respond to the statements under the “APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY” box (Yes/No response)

12. Identify your preferred notification frequency

13.  Identify your preferred “POSITION TYPE” (i.e. Full or Part Time)

14.  Respond to the “TITLE SEARCH” section accordingly

15.  Respond to the “SEARCH KEYWORDS” section accordingly

16.  Give this agent a specific title within the “AGENT TITLE” box
