Disabled Applicants

Application Instructions

Robins AFB encourages disabled applicants to apply for positions for which they qualify. Disabled applications must meet the qualification for any position for which they are applying, including any physical requirements (subject to a physical examination). Applicants may apply for positions in two ways:

  • Apply under the normal competitive procedures just like all other applicants. Information on open positions may be obtained through the Robins Employment office, by calling our automated system at 926-0666, or by logging on to the official website at www.usajobs.com

  • Apply under non-competitive procedures under the Program for People with Disabilities.

    • A person will be considered “disabled” based on the definition of “disability” in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

      • A physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major activities.

      • A record of such an impairment

      • The applicant is regarded as having such an impairment by the employing agency

    • Applications are accepted on a continual basis

    • Applicants must submit a resume with a referral letter verifying that the applicant meets the definition of a disability as stated in the Americans with Disabilities Act. The letter may cone form one of the following sources:

      • State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation

      • Department of Veteran’s Affairs

      • Licensed medical professional (e.g., a physician or other medical professional duly certified by a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory, to practice medicine)

      • Licensed vocational rehabilitation specialist (i.e., State or private)

      • Any Federal agency, State agency, or agency of the District of Columbia or a U.S. territory that issues or provides disability benefits

    • Form SF-15 must be submitted also.

    • Applications will be kept on file to be referred as vacancies occur along with other qualified applicants

Referral under this program does not guarantee employment. Applicants will be referred for positions for which qualified to be considered along with other qualified applicants.
